Location: Cherai Beach, a perfect and magnificent gift of Mother Nature, it is one of the most visited beaches of the South India. It is located in the Cherai village, falling under the Ernakulum district of State of Kerala. One can take a short trip of nearly 23.5 km from Kochi to reach this beach. It is at a distance of 2.5 km from the Kochi International Airport.
Description: Cherai beach is quite popular, as it offers simultaneous views of both the Arabian Sea and the backwaters of Vypeen Island. Nearly a stretch of 15 km of the Vypeen Island is covered under the golden sheet of sand and is washed off by the waters of the Cherai beach. The golden sand makes it a perfect place to be lost in the solitude with nature or may be just indulge in long walks. Coconut trees outlining the Cherai beach make the overall scene even more charming. Visitors come here in search of relaxing and rejuvenating environs. The cool sea breezes blowing over your face makes you feel de-stressed.
