Description: One of the oldest existing places of India; it was built by the Dutch during pre-British era. This place has a great history associated with it. In the year 1744, Dutch traders made Bolgatty Palace as a Villa, which was later extended and adorned by lush green gardens. Also, this place serves as the residence of the Governor. Later on, after the reign of British, it became the abode of British governor also. Positioned in the heart of a fabulous garden, the palace has gradually transformed into a venerated heritage hotel. With the magnificent backwaters as the milieu, the panorama around the palace is simply awe-inspiring. Being an imperative city of South India, Kochi attracts a large number of tourists every year. Once you land here, you have to take the ferry ride to reach the Palace.
