Established in the year 1898, the mill is known not only for its textile manufacturing but also for exporting to several countries. A Frenchman, Joseph Francios Dupleix sought to expand the French influence by means of trading ports and a major port among those was Pondicherry where this textile mill is presently located. Dating back to 18th or 19th century, the textile mill is an ideal place where visitors can gather extensive information about fabric making. Visitors can also check out the use of modernize technology and machines for making fabric, including automatic looms and a process house. It is renowned worldwide for numerous forms of fabrics like printed, grey, dyed and bleached. UK, USA, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia and UAE are the names of some of the countries to which the textile products produced by the mill are exported.
