Also known as Somvarpet by some, Somwarpet is a township which is situated in the district of Kodagu in the state of Karnataka. This town is a great place for tourists to visit given all the activities they can indulge in here. Since this area is extremely well known for being one of the biggest producers of the Arabica strain of coffee, as well as a number of spices like cardamom, ginger, oranges, peppers and even vanilla, tourists can check out the plantations for the same and see their verdant beauty. The Beelur Golf Club located 8 km away from this township is a popular location which many filmmakers use as a shooting location. The Malemalleshwara Betta is a hill which is situated 13 km away from the township and is the grounds for the Grand Mahashivaratri celebrations which are held here annually.
