The Abbey Falls are a very popular tourist attraction which is located at a distance of 8 km from the township of Madikeri and at a distance of 268 km from the city of Bengaluru. Tourists who are coming via international flights will have to disembark at Bengaluru International Airport while those coming by domestic flights can get off at and can then either take a bus or a private taxi cab to this rather popular tourist destination. These falls are very popular since they are not only extremely beautiful, but accessible as well, thanks to the private coffee plantations which are on either side. Tourists can use the hanging footbridges here to see the falls. Abbey Falls offer a great deal of picturesque natural beauty for those who are interested in photography. The best time for tourists to come and enjoy these waterfalls is in the beginning of winter, since the preceding monsoons cause an increase in the volume of water in these falls.
