The Banasura Sagar Dam lies 21 km towards the north west of Kalpetta. Known to be the largest dam in India and the second largest in Asia; the dam extends to a large area with crystal clear waters. Pristine and tucked away amidst the hills, Bansura Sagar Dam is an absolute beauty.
Surrounded by picturesque natural beauty, along with the soft sound of lazily moving water, the dam is an ideal place for a picnic. Boating and other water recreational activities are available at the dam. It is best visited when the dam is full and brimming with fresh water.
