Ancestral home of the blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, who was regarded as a Carmelite religious priest, this Bhavan is located at a distance of 6 km from Alappuzha. Large number of devotees gathers at this holy shrine to offer their prayers. A 250 year old beacon of light, which has historical importance, is preserved here in its original form.
This Bhavan encloses the birth place of the saint. Mass prayers are held here at regular intervals in which people in large numbers participate. People who pray here with clear conscience are believed to get their wishes fulfilled. To attain peace of mind, people meditate in this chapel. On the first Saturday of the month, special prayers are held at the church.
Tourists in large numbers visit this place to enjoy its serene ambiance that helps them to relax. This place is accessible only through boats; therefore a person can also enjoy boating while visiting this holy place.
