Badami comprises of four cave temples which make the place worth visiting for the tourists. The temples are beautifully engraved from a hill opposite the foot of Badami. Three caves symbolize the Brahmanical culture, where as the fourth cave signifies the Jain culture. Almost 2000 steps have to be passed to view the beautiful and magnificent caves. The first cave showcases Lord Shiva as Natraj with eighteen arms and the lord Shiva can be witnessed in 81 dancing styles. Lord Vishnu is the sanctified divinity of the second cave and is represented as a dwarf or Trivikrama. The third cave comprises of Lord Vishnu representatives in several forms. The cave represents the Jain hirthankaras.
