The moment you enter the bazaar, you can observe various havelis and mosques lined up, which take you back to the spectacular bygone period when the emperors ruled this city. The market has an amazing collection of handicrafts, utensils, paintings, woolen clothes and tribal ornaments. The shops located in its narrow lanes are famous for local crafts, jewelry made of gold and silver, embroidered sarees and sequined purses, cushions and many such items.
For food lovers there is a section in the market which has numerous food-stalls serving delicious items, including the famous Mughalai delights and tasty kebabs, which are available at a reasonable cost. However, the major attraction here is the Jama Masjid which lies amidst the Chowk. The monument was built under the reign of erstwhile ruler of Bhopal using Islamic architecture style and attracts tourists and devotees from all across the world.
