Various architectural wonders were created by royal families that ruled the beautiful city of Bikaner. Gajner Palace, a well known summer resort, is often called “a jewel in Thar desert” by royal families. Carved out of red sandstone, this palace has now been converted into a heritage hotel.
Upon insistence from his bride Maharaja of Bikaner, Ganga Singh, ordered the construction of this palace that lies on the bank of a lake that overlooks lush green forests. Shooting of various films has taken place here, which has increased the popularity of Gajner Palace even more.
Original furniture and décor of earlier times is still preserved here that gives an insight of the royal lives of the kings. Different types of indoor activities are provided to keep the visitors entertained, along with a variety of cuisines that can be savored by them. This is a highly recommended place to visit, especially for the heritage travelers.
