Description: Tribal Research Centre is dedicated to the study of various types of minority hill tribes and their culture. It was established in the year 1983 at Udhagamandalam. The centre spreads over an area of 25 acres of hilly terrain at M Paladin. The Tribal Research Centre highlights the history and culture of mountain tribes of the state, including the Todas, Kotas and Paniyas. Do not miss the Tribal Museum, a major part of the Tribal Research Centre. You can see various rare artifacts and pictures of ancient tribal groups of Tamil Nadu and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. One can spend a great time while reading books and journals on the tribal culture at the in-house library. An audio-video presentation of tribal life, during the festival, is truly an infrequent experience. It remains open on all days, except Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
