Location: Spread over an area of 104 sq km, Borivali national park is located within the city of Mumbai. This park lies in the northern part of the city which is located in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Description: During the pre independence era, this place was known as Krishnagiri Park, however after gaining independence this beautiful park was renamed as Borivali national park. In the year 1990, this place was again renamed to its present name, Sanjay Gandhi National Park. This park houses a large variety of flora and fauna, which attracts the attention of nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. A major attraction of this national park remains the Kanheri caves which have been carved out of rocks and are 2400 years old. Uniqueness of the park lies in its serene ambiance, abundant wildlife and lush green forests. Small exhibitions, which give information about the park’s wildlife, are held at regular intervals inside the park.

Activities: Regarded as a paradise for wildlife lovers, at Sanjay Gandhi National Park tourists can sight various species of animals, which include Rhesus Macaque, Gray Langur, Bonnet and Indian Hare. Children can also indulge in a ride of the toy train which is available for them in the park.
