Around 40 kilometers away from Chamba is a village called Chattradi. Most of the village dwellers are of Gaddi tribe. This place is well known for the temple located on a hill top. The temple is dedicated to Shakti Devi. This temple is considered as one of the sacred temples of this region. This is at an altitude of around six thousand meters over the sea level. Chattradi temple portrays architectural beauty of Gupta period. You can have a glimpse of the nearby places from this village, which is picturesque.
Raja Meru Verman had constructed this temple. There is one more temple of importance near the Chattradi temple and it is dedicated to Gauri Shankar. A mela is organized in September month and the same day witnesses' sacrifices of sheep to appease the Goddess. People from various parts of the state visit the Chattradi temple and worship in order to take her blessings.
