Akhand Chandi Palace served as residence for the royal family of Chamba. The palace was constructed in the second half of the 18th century. Paintings and intricate detailing was done to provide it a better look. Akhand Chandi Palace is of historical and artistic importance. The stunning palace presents the special work of art which was present during those times.
The successors of the royal dynasty gave this building to state government. However this palace suddenly started losing its old glory. The building is not being taken care of properly; the walls that used to have beautiful paintings are devastated and the palace looks like a dilapidated place.
The wooden work that has been done on the ceilings presents the talent possessed by the craftsmen of that time. Besides this the attractive look of the temples and other buildings visible from this palace present an enchanting view to cherish.
