Chamunda Devi Temple is located on the edge of river Banner. Goddess Kali is the presiding goddess of this temple. Located in a beautiful ambiance this temple adjoins the beautiful sights of the exalted mountains and plantations of the nearby regions. It is a general belief that this temple was constructed some 750 years ago. This temple is of great historical and mythological importance. According to the Hindu mythology goddess Ambika killed two beasts, named Chanda and Munda and people believe that this is the place of execution of the beasts. Presiding deity of this temple is covered with a red cloth, in order to prevent it from being touched by the devotees. It is a big temple and contains a Shiva lingam. Images of various Gods can be seen inside the temple. Pilgrims from all over India visit this place to offer prayers and take blessings from the divine.
