A small holy monastery, Tashiding is amongst several archaic monasteries situated in the Indian state of Sikkim. Established in the year 1717, the monastery still manages to maintain its charm and the Nyingmapa order of Tibetan and Buddhism.
Situated 40km away from Geyzing in the West Sikkim, it is considered to be a significant sacred place for the Buddhist monks and followers all across the world. You can see huge scores of tourists coming from different regions of the country to offer their prayers and get rid of all their sins. As per the ancient notions one must visit this place at least once in his life to remove all the wrong doings of his life. Positioned on top of the hill, amidst the Rangit and Rathong River, the monastery appears stupefying with an incredible background of the splendid snow covered mount Kanchenjunga.
You can see various mantras imprinted on its walls, wooden slabs or even stone plates, also known as Manis and several other important pieces of ancient history present in its premises.
