Sprawled over an area of about 51.76 sq km, the Fambong La Wildlife sanctuary is an add-on to the Sikkim wildlife excursion. Also recognized as the second largest state of India, Sikkim is the place where one can enjoy the utmost beauty and lush greenery with diverse assortment of its vegetation.
For nature lovers this is a perfect holiday spot to enjoy the abundantly forested area and wildlife excursions to view wild and extinct animals like Red Panda, Bear-Cat, Himalayan Black Bear, Civet and many more. It is located at a distance of about 20km form the main city and is surrounded by dense forests of bamboo, katus, kimbu, oak, champ and ferns, with plenty of rhododendrons and wild orchids.
Tourists can also view several types of butterflies and birds, as well as a rich collection of flora and fauna. It is an amazing place and can be visited all round the year but the best months to catch sights of animals indulged in their day to day activities is from March to late May and from mid September to Mid-December.
