The Friday Market, or the Friday Bazaar as it is known to the locals, is an event which is held every Friday just outside the Mapusa Municipal Market. Vendors, farmers, salesmen and entrepreneurs from all over the state of Goa come here every week, as do customers and tourists in order to sell and buy their wares, respectively. This market is held during the daytime and winds up before dark, so tourists who want to experience the authentic Goan experience should make it a point to come to this Bazaar in time. There are a large number of stalls which are erected here, offering a diverse array of goods to interested customers. Tourists can get not only organically grown fresh produce (fruits and vegetables) but also things like handicrafts, pottery items, jewelry, spices and locally made apparels, as well as meats, and other items. This bazaar is the perfect solution for those people who want to get some shopping done on the cheap.
