A multi tiered waterfall on the Mandovi river, the Dudhsagar Falls are an extremely popular tourist attraction which is located approximately 46 km away from Madgaon and 60 km away from Panaji, the capital of the state of Goa. The word “Dudhsagar” translates to the phrase “A sea of milk” which will seem very appropriate to all those people who have visited these falls and seen the cascading water which takes on a frothy, milky white appearance. This waterfall is situated in South Goa, within the confines of the Bhagwan Mahavir Wild Life Sanctuary of Collem, which falls on the border lying between the states of Goa and Karnataka. This waterfall is best seen after the monsoon season has left Goa, which is usually in the month of October since the river is in full spate at this time. With a width of 30 meters and a height of 310 meters, the spectacle of the Dudhsagar falls is definitely something to check out.
