About 24 km away from Margao in the Salcette Region lays one of southern Goa’s hidden treasures. The coastal village of Betul is situated at the delta of the river Sal and Betul beach starts from across the coast, from the Mobor beach on the other side of the delta. This village is extremely small, with only around 60 huts here. The primary occupation of the population of this town is fishing with small fishing boats as well as trawlers, which head into the Arabian Sea to catch fish. The locals here live in a close knit community and often mingle socially during the evenings. The beach here offers soft sands and cool breezes far away from the noisy traffic of cities; thus making it one of the best places for those tourists, who are actively searching for the right place for them to spend a vacation in a serene atmosphere.
