Location: Shilp Gram is located at a distance of about 3 km to the west of the popular Fateh Sagar Lake located in Udaipur.
Description: Shilp Gram literally means “village of art and craft”. This is a living museum which spreads over an area of 70 acres. This is one of the seven centers which have been established in 1986 by the government. In this craft village, 26 representative huts are present which incorporate traditional architecture features. Craftsmen and artisans from all over the country participate in this festival and display their specialties. The cool and attractive surroundings attract the attention of tourists toward Shilp Gram. A 10 days festival is organized here every year that offers a glimpse of rural India to the visitors. This once in a year fest is awaited by people all around the nation. So plan your trip during the festival and be a part of the celebrations.
Activities: During the 10 days festival, tourists can indulge in shopping of different items. They can choose from bamboo artwork, Banarasi silk sari or warm woolens. Tourists can also try out lip smacking food which is readily available to them, as well as buy some small handicraft items as a memory of the trip.
