The Hill temple complex encloses a number of temples, often interestingly mistaken to be Jain Temples, due to their architecture. In fact, many of these temples are dedicated only to Lord Shiva.
The entire region seems to be constructed out of a huge sheet of undulated rocks. There are three temples with pyramid-like roofs, constructed perpendicular to each other and sharing a common hall.
An ancient fort that surrounds it protects this Hemakuta Hill region. Located at the heart of Hampi, the calmness and seclusion of the complex is a pleasant surprise.
