Located in Chilkur, at a distance of about 25 km from the city of Hyderabad, Mrigavani National Park spreads over an area of 700 acres. This park houses tropical dry deciduous trees and also a large number of other plant species. Various trees that grow in this wildlife park are rosewood, bamboo, sandalwood, neem and teak, to name a few.
Housing more than 20 species of animals, which include Civet Cat, Cheetah, Forest Cat, Wild Boar and Hare among others, this park is also considered as a paradise for bird watchers. Different species of birds which can be easily sighted here are Curlews, Babblers, Peacocks, Flower Peckers and Partridges.
Various camps are also organized here by the forest department to educate people about the concept of eco diversity. Therefore, if someone wants to enjoy in the natural surroundings amongst animals and birds, this wildlife park is the right place to visit.
