Location: Established in the year 1509 AD, Jaisalmer Golden Fort houses the Chandraprabhu Temple. First amongst the seven temples that were built between 15th and 16th century, this famous temple was dedicated to the 8th Tirthankara, Prophet Chandraprabhu ji.
Description: Built according to the Rajput style of architecture, this temple is beautifully carved out of red sandstone. Being an example of excellent craftsmanship, Chandraprabhu temple boasts of curved facades, beautifully designed walkways, open spaces and well crafted corridors. Pillars of the shrine are decorated with geometrical shapes which are constructed out of stone and mortar. The Chandraprabhu temple holds special importance amongst the people of Jain community; however people belonging to other religions also offer their prayers at this shrine.
Activities: This temple is visited by a large number of devotees, along with tourists who have deep interest in knowing more about a place’s history and view magnificent structures.
