Description: The most fascinating among the four gates, namely Hawa Pol, Suraj Pol, Akhai Pol and Ganesh Pol, the first fort gate showcases marvelously done craftsmanship and beautiful style of architecture. Constructed in the year 1156, this gate is regarded as the main doorway of the Jaisalmer fort. The Akhai Pol was the main entryway for the members of the royal families and also for their important guests.
Built with sandstone, the Jaisalmer fort is a simple looking haveli. Built upon an 80 meter high hill known as trikuta, this fort gives glimpse of the architectural style of the ruling kings.
