Location: Zenana Mahal was a palace built exclusively for the queens during the time when the royal dynasty used to rule and it is positioned on one end of the city palace. This is a unique building and is located in the well known Mehrangarh fort, which is at a distance of 5 kilometers from the Jodhpur city.
Description: Constructed in early 1600s, this palace was occupied by many wives of the king and their cohorts, who used to spend a lot of time there. It is supposed to have been guarded by eunuchs during that era. This Mahal has a marvelous appearance and eye-catching charm till date; the reason behind it is the alluring rock carvings and the sandstone screens. Actually this Mahal was built as a safe place for the queens and that is why it was strongly guarded. Zenana Mahal has served as a venue for a number of royal weddings as well.
Activities: A great Mahal of the 1600s, it is now used as a venue for musical soirees and regal weddings. The millennium celebrations were marked in this venue. Visiting this place is a really enjoyable experience because of the royal ambience of this place.
