Asia’s first hydro electric power station which was set up in the year 1902 at the Gaganachukki waterfall is still functional till date.

The well known Ranganatha temple, which is dedicated to lord Ranganatha, is constructed according to Dravidian architectural style. An interesting statue of Takshaka, lord of serpents, also adorns this temple. Some other famous religious attractions are Maruleshwara Temple, Arkeshwara Temple and the Bhagawan Bahubali Statue.
