How to Reach Shimla

Tourists can easily reach Shimla, thanks to the extensive network of Indian railways. A meter gauge railway station at Shimla connects it with the nearest broad gauge station which is in Kalka; located at a distance of 89 km. Kalka is well connected with all the major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai and Kolkata in India. Different trains that help the visitors in their journey are Paschim Express, Himalayan Queen, Howrah Kalka and Kalka Shatabdi to name a few.



By Air

At a distance of 25 km from the heart of the city lies the Jubbarhatti Airport. Daily direct flights are available from Delhi and the fare is reasonable. A person can easily hire a taxi from the airport to reach the hill station. The nearest international airport is the Delhi International Airport which is located at a distance of 357 km. This airport connects with all the major cities in India and abroad.



By Bus

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses connect Shimla with different cities that lie in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Regular service of deluxe and state owned buses connects Shimla with Delhi and other prominent cities of north India. Overnight bus services, as well as AC and non AC buses, are also available to help tourists from different states to travel to Shimla easily.
