Rajmachi

A well known tourist destination of Maharashtra, Rajmachi is an astonishing region which houses two prominent peaks, namely Manaranjan and Shrivardhan, which have the altitude of 3000 feet and 2700 feet respectively.  Located near two main hill stations of Maharashtra, namely Lonavala and Khandala, this place is popular for its magnificent beauty and a famous fort. This fort is the testimony of the great political tumult which Rajmachi witnessed. The city has a long history associated with many rulers and invaders, who came to this place from time to time.

Actually, the fort of Rajmachi is considered as two forts, which are located on two different peaks. It is believed that the fort here was constructed to have a view of the Konkan region. Known for trekking, it is a popular destination for people looking for some adventurous sports. To test your bravery, you can take a trek from the Tungarli region to the amazing rocky routes. The ancient cave near the fort is the finest example of ancient ingenious architecture on rocks, which are popular by the name Kondhavi.

The whole area of Rajmachi is surrounded by lush greenery of the dense forest and the hilly region. The Ulhas River adds to the overall beauty of the area, which offers a great charm to the city and also offers the unpolluted and cool water to rejuvenate. The flora and fauna of this area, makes it a place worth a visit. Earlier it was completely untouched place, but now as the tourism here is increasing day by day, the deforestation is taking place here at high pace, thus raising a threat for the flora and fauna of this place.
