RAJAJI NATIONAL PARK- Blessed with incomparable Scenic Beauty
Located perfectly along lush green hills, Rajaji National Park is situated in Uttaranchal State at the foothills of mountain range of Shivalik. With flourishing beauty, this park is enriched with admirable bio diversity. At a distance of 6 km from the holy city of Rishikesh, this beautiful park is spread over an area of 820 sq. km.
The Rajaji National Park, which was established in the year 1983 and was named after Sri C. Rajagopalachari, a famous freedom fighter. It houses three famous sanctuaries which are called as Rajaji Sanctuary, Motichur Sanctuary and Chilla Sanctuary.
Considered as one of the important wildlife reserves of the country, this park is home to a large number of animals and birds species. Some animals which can be easily spotted here are Asian elephants, bears, panthers, tigers, sloth bear and Indian hares.
The jungle safari which is offered in this park remains as the top most attraction of this place. The enchanting jungle safari, whether done on foot or in a vehicle, is sure to leave its visitors awestruck. During this safari, flora and fauna of the region can be enjoyed.
