Kumbhalgarh – A treasured city of Rajasthan

Situated in the heart of Rajsamand District, located in the state of Rajasthan, is the amazing region of Kumbhalgarh. It lies in the southern corner of Rajasthan. Kumbhalgarh Fort is a proud symbol of the shining history of Rajasthan state. It was founded by Rana Kumbha back in the 15th century. Visitors after reaching the top of the Kumbhalgarh Fort can enjoy the spell bounding views of the surrounding areas. A tall and massive wall was built to safeguard the fort against all attacks from the enemies. Thanks to the height of this wall, it comes at number two in terms of length after the Great Wall of China.

Badal Mahal is another extremely popular tourist destination of Kumbhalgarh region. Badal Mahal is synonymously known by the title of “Palace of Clouds”. The Palace has two parts and these are Zanana Mahal and Mardana Mahal. Both these Mahals are interconnected.

Soft pastel shades have been used to enhance the grace of this palace. A feature worth praising is the air conditioning system used here. They are one of their kinds. Kumbhalgarh has a sacred side too and there are numerous temples where one can visit and offer their prayers. Some of the most famous temples of this region are Parshuram Temple, Mammadev Temple, Vedi Temple, Neelkanth Mahadeo Temple, Ranakpur Jain Temple and Muchchal Mahavir Temple. Nature lovers and animal lovers can visit the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary. It is the only reserve where Wolves can be spotted along with Panthers, Four horned antelopes or Chausingas, Wild Boars, Sloth Bears, Jackals, Sambars, Chinkaras, Leopards, Hyenas, Jungle cats, Hares, etc.
