Kufri, located at an altitude of 2743 m, derives its name from ‘Kufr’ which means ‘lake’ in the local language. It is a small town at a distance of 13 km from Shimla. This place witness tourists all round the year and is especially popular among trekkers owing to the adventures activities such as skiing, tobogganing, paragliding etc.
The main attractions include Mashru Peak, Himalayan Nature Park and Indira Tourist Park due to which, Kufri earned the credit and attention of tourists to the much more famous hill station, Shimla.
