Gorumara National Park - An ideal place for wildlife enthusiasts
One of the popular tourist attractions of the state of West Bengal, Gorumara is located in Dooars region. A small region sited on the bank of two rivers, River Murti and River Raidak, a large part of it is a wildlife reserve. Covering around 80 square kilometers of land, this place is known for its undulating forests and grasslands.
One of the main attractions of this region is Gorumara National Park. Sited in the foothills of Himalayas, it boasts of the splendor and scenic beauty of unperturbed nature in the region. A medium sized park in the early years, it got recognition as National Park in the year 1994. The main attraction of this park is the One Horned Rhino. Surrounded with rich flora, Gorumara National park houses more than 50 species of animals, apart from which a diverse variety of birds and reptiles can also be found here. Besides the wildlife, the watchtowers, mainly the Jatraprasad watchtower and Rhino Observation Point are other charms of this park. One can also have a glance of wildlife by opting for elephant rides. Hiking is also a popular activity here.

Gorumara is very well connected by road, rail and air transport. Bagdodara Airport and Jalpaiguri railway station are the nearest points from where you can easily reach Gorumara.
