Dharamshala- Buddhist capital across the globe
Dharamshala is one of the magnificent and spell bounding hill stations of India and is housed in the district of Kangra in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Tourists visiting Pathankot also have an easy route to reach Dharamshala. Dharamshala can be viewed in two parts comprising of the lower part and the upper part. The lower part is known for traditional settlement and houses a market where visitors can buy souvenirs for their loved ones. However, the upper part known as Mcleodganj came to fame after serving as the resident of the Buddhist spiritual leader, Dalai Lama.
The presence of this renowned spiritual soul here attracts a lot of students and tourists from India and across the world. The Central Tibetan Administration or CTA was moved to Dharamshala in the year 1960. One can get the golden opportunity to have a look at the rare manuscripts preserved in the school of Tibetan studies and there is also a Tibetan institute promoting art and crafts amongst students.
Enclosing the town of Dharamshala are dense pine forests and the beauty is taken to a next level due to the presence of Dhauladhar range. Trekking is a famous adventurous sport performed here. To cater the needs of adventure enthusiasts, there are numerous thrilling trekking trails that help trekkers reach the Ravi Valley and the district of Chamba. Rock climbing is another activity for which people come to Dharamshala. The best thing is that one gets to see mountains wrapped in snow throughout the year.
