Aurangabad railway station is well connected to other cities, though it is not on the main route but it is directly connected to many other cities across India like Delhi (Sachkhand Exp), Mumbai (Tapovan Express and Devgiri Express) and Ahmedabad (Rmm Okha Expres). Aurangabad station is located on the Secunderabad-Manmad section of the Nanded Division of South Central Railway zone of the Indian Railways. It is also connected to Nanded, Nagpur, Nasik, Pune, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vadodra. However, there is still a demand for direct rail connectivity to other major cities of India.
The airport is located at a distance of 10km east from the main town. Aurangabad airport is directly air-linked to Hyderabad, Delhi, Udaipur, Mumbai, Jaipur, Pune, and Nagpur. It is also known as the gateway to the region as most of the visitors who are coming from outside reach Aurangabad once just after the arrival or before leaving the state.
You can easily drive to Aurangabad as it is very well connected by road to the towns and cities around it. State owned public transport buses and several luxury buses are running between Mumbai and Aurangabad at a cheap fare. Famous Ellora town is connected to Aurangabad by bus services from many cities in Maharashtra thus making it more feasible for the tourists to travel.
