Built by Bayaji Shinde in 19th century, it is a huge temple located in the middle of the market. A temple of Lord Krishna, it is the finest example of the unsurpassed Maratha architecture. The great architecture and its location are the two attributes responsible for the popularity of this temple.
This marble structure has a two feet tall statue of the deity, placed on the marble inlaid altar with silver plated doors. The inner sanctum has the same door, which was carried away by Ghazni from Somnath Temple. This door was recovered by Mahadji Scindia and then mounted in this temple.
