Kalakshetra is a centre for learning art in different forms; it serves as a school where one can develop one’s artistic potential and learn various complexities in an organized manner. Actually it is a small playhouse formed in 90’s. The basic aim of this group is to encourage children so that they can enhance their theatrical skills. It promotes innovative talent among children by involving them in performing drama, mime, dance, magic, puppetry, craft etc. This is done under the supervision of experts. The children learning here are taken on picnics, where they get to learn a lot. The age group of the children who can be admitted here is between five years to fourteen years. The intake capacity of this school is seventy children. The main objective of the theater is to have fun. Children also do get a chance to take part in the annual pantomime of Kalakshetra.
