It is said that Manu temple is the only Indian temple dedicated to Manu Rishi and hence this temple is significant among other temples in India. According to Indian mythology, Manu Rishi was an Indian sage who is believed to be the originator of world and he was the one who wrote Manusmriti. The beautiful Manu temple is located on one of the sides of sacred River Beas. This is a place where the sage Manu did meditation for long time. Despite of being located in a congested area, this temple remains a main attraction for people and tourists, who visit this temple from all over the world throughout the year. The temple is made from materials like wood, marble and stone. The Deodar wood used to make the windows and doors is of superior quality and it is very expensive. Deodar wood is rarely available as cutting deodar trees is strictly prohibited by Himachal Pradesh Government.
