Located near to Pandava caves, Apsara Vihar is a natural pool which is formed by a tiny waterfall. It is a place which is quite popular among the picnickers. Being deeper near the fall and shallow at the end, makes it an ideal and safe place for swimming and diving. Thus this spot of Pachmarhi is quite popular among youngsters as well.
It is also known by the name of Fairy Pool and why this name is given to it has a very interesting story behind it. At the time of British rule, the British ladies used to come here for bathing, and locals used to peep through the bushes. As they were so fair and beautiful, the locals used to call them fairy queens or the apsaras, and thus came the name, Apsara Vihar or Fairy Pool.
This sweet little shallow pool is not only for youngsters but is quite suitable for families, as they can spend some memorable time in the tiny waterfall here.
