Overlooking Pune city is the Parvati Hills, which provide one of the best scenic locations near Pune. An important Hindu religious destination, the temples here are believed to have been built during the 17th century. They were initially made as a place of worship for the Peshwa rulers but were later on even opened for the public. These ancient temples house the idols of Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishu, Devateshwar and Lord Karthikeya.
Not just the temples but everything present here as its own unique charm. The steps meant to take devotees to this great temple are the finest example of the great stone work done during the Maratha times. The hills also provide great trekking opportunities. Apart from the temple you can also visit the private museum here, which has ancient manuscripts, rare coins, and weapons, in addition to the Sati Monument and Vetal Chabutra.
