This famous temple of the 18th century is believed to have been constructed by the Peshwas. Once a place of great importance, it could however not tolerate the beatings of time and is in ruins today. The decorations and furnishing, made up of fine quality wood, were the main highlights of this place, of which only few examples survive in today’s date.
Although the condition of this structure is not at its best, nevertheless it is still the finest example of the great architectural work done by the Marathas. The history and beauty of this magnificent palace allures a number of archaeologists and historians towards it.
