The Kothandaranmmaswamy Temple is located on the southernmost tip and is situated on the island close to the Bay of Bengal and all sides of the temple are encircled by the Indian Ocean. The area of the temple in spite of being hit by cyclones remained in place even under difficult and crucial circumstances.
This history of this temple revolves around the story of Ramayan. And at this place only Vibhishana, brother of Ravan came into union with Rama and he too is worshipped in the temple.
