The Dhanushkodi Temple is one of the most beautiful temples located on the southern point and was the one that was eroded away by a cyclone.

The temple is located on an island and due to which it is surrounded by water on all four sides. It is encircled by the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other and the pattern of the bow and arrow is formed by these seas when viewed from a height.

The arrow head is believed to be a holy place for worship of Hindus all across the nation and they visit there and offer their prayers to the Lord. The religious and moral feet of Lord Ram can also be traced in this temple and it revolves around the saga of Ramayana. It is a must visit place for the devotees of Lord Rama and it is distanced to be nearly 18kms from Rameshwaram and travelling by road is easy.
