Located at a distance of about 11 km from the town Darjeeling, the Tiger Hill lies at a height of 2555 m above the sea level. This place is famous for offering a splendid view of sunrise over the mighty Himalayan Mountains, as well as the Kanchenjunga peak. The sun rays paint these peaks in a beautiful pale gold color. As the sun slowly rises, it imparts different hues on the mountains which offer an amazing sight.
The famous hill station Kurseong, along with the Balason River, Mahanada and Teesta River are also visible from the Tiger Hill on a clear day. Tourists can also undertake the activity of trekking or mountain climbing to experience some adventure.
Wildlife enthusiasts can visit the Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary that lies in the vicinity. Picnic spots are also present around this sanctuary which also houses two manmade lakes. These lakes serve as a major source of water for the residents of Darjeeling.
