Location: This water wonder is located at the conflux of Bay of Bengal and Gosthani River. This beach can be accessed easily as it lies at a distance of about 24 km from the city of Visakhapatnam.
Description: The serene and scenic ambiance of the beach attracts the attention of tourists looking forward to spend some quality time with their loved ones. Amidst tall coconut trees and blue water, this beach is a perfect place for honeymooners. The sun kissed sand and the breathtaking beauty of the region cannot be expressed in words. According to legends, the beach was named after one of the Pandavas, Bhima who killed Bakasura at this place. He celebrated his victory by installing Goddess Lakshmi’s idol atop the hill. Another reason to visit this beach is that it is considered safe to swim in the cool and calm water of the beach. Building sand castles on the beach can help the tourists to revive their childhood days.
Activities: Children can enjoy themselves at the beach as they can indulge in different outdoor activities. Tourists can also visit the remnants of a fort which are present at a short distance. This fort is believed to be constructed during the Dutch rule and hence gives a glimpse of Dutch architecture.
