Bhadra Fort

Bhadra fort is one among the most alluring monuments of Ahmedabad that indeed radiates a special charm and aura, specific to medieval times. Built in 1411 A.D. by Sultan Ahmed Shah under the rule of Marathas, who laid the foundation of this royal picturesque fort, it is known to be the top most tourist sites in Ahmedabad.

Right outside the Lal Darwaja the fort houses Bhadrakali temple, because of which it is named so. Besides this, Teen Darwaza is another entrance to this fort, which has three arched gate structures. It is the main entrance to Bhadra fort which directs towards the Royal Square, where royal processions and the famous polo games were held.

Nested within the most amazing locations of Ahmedabad and surrounded by lush greenery, the fort depicts the life of Sultan Ahmed Shah and his family. Its lattice work, accompanied with splendid   intricate statues and beautiful frescos, attracts thousands of tourists to visit Bhadra fort.
