Location: Peer Kho is a well known temple in Jammu, located on the bank of River Tawi. This Cave temple is positioned in the middle of igneous rocks and acacia forest.
Description: This temple is of great religious and mythological importance and has gained importance from Ramayana. It is said that the bear god Jamvant had meditated in this cave. This temple is devoted to lord Shiva and a lingam is placed inside the temple, which is sign of devotion to the presiding deity. Considered to be an ancient temple, it is also famous as Jamvant Cave. This temple is respected by the local people and tourists alike. Local residents believe that this cave temple is a gateway to pilgrimage spots of the other parts of India.
