Location: The Great Himalayan National Park is located inside the Banjar sub division of the famous Parvati valley. It lies in the region of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. This park is surrounded by mountain ranges and steep ridges from its eastern, southern and northern side. Being well connected by road, a traveler can easily reach this park.
Description: Constructed in the year 1984, this park is the latest addition to the list of Indian national parks. This national park boasts of a large number of species of flora as well as fauna and is a perfect place for wildlife lovers. Spread over 50 sq km, travelers can see more than 180 species of animals and birds in this national park. Some of the commonly seen animals are Ibex, Musk deer, Himalayan Tahr, brown bear and snow leopards.
A 5 day trek is organized by the authorities at regular intervals and it is one of the best ways to explore this park. Proper security arrangements are made and the tourists are accompanied by park rangers to ensure their safety.
