Lakhamandal is a place located on the Mussoorie – Yamunotri road at a distance of 75 kilometers from Kempty falls. This place is having mythological as well as historical importance. It is said that Kaurvas had built Lakhamandal as a shelter house; actually they had a plan to burn the Pandavas alive in this place. This place is located on the shore of river Yamuna. Chakrata is 35 kilometers away from here and Dehradun is at a distance of 128 kilometers from this place. For antiquarians this place is of great interest. Lakhamandal has temples that are dedicated to the pandava brothers, Diva, Kedar and Parsuram. Figures of Arjuna and Bhima built in stone are present in this village. Kaurvas had the ill intension of burning Pandavas alive so they constructed the Lakshya Graha but pandavas came to know about this and secretly went away through an underground route and saved themselves.
