Description: Shri Tryambakeshwar Temple is one of the most venerated sites in Rishikesh. According to history, it was founded by Adi Guru Shankracharya during 12th century. The shrine is an abode of Lord Tryambakeshwar, the three eyed Lord Shiva. The deity is installed in the form of Shiva Lingam in the temple. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India and hence frequently visited by thousands of devotees all through the year. It is located at a source of the River Ganges, the holy river believed to have been descended from heaven to earth. The clean and well maintained environment of the temple makes it look absolutely miraculous. Shri Tryambakeshwar Temple is a three storey shrine and ornamented with sculptures of various Hindu gods and goddesses. The beautiful shrine presents an amazing architecture which is worth watching.
